First of all I haven’t gone crazy,
When I first read about clay eating for detoxing I was a little unsure about the whole thing I nearly wrote it off as my morning routine of lemon water, apple cider vinegar and coconut oil pulling seemed like enough elements to cleanse ones system ready for the day. However with a little more research I was intrigued and couldn’t resist giving this clay eating business a whirl and I am glad I did, here is why..
Many of us carry around heavy metal contamination thanks to pollutants in the air, hairdressing products, seafood, in our water and cosmetics. Clay has a negative charge whereas impurities and toxins carry a positive charge. So when we eat clay the impurities are attracted to the supercharged clay, a reaction occurs the clay binds to the toxins and the body is able to eliminate everything. Clay is electrical how wicked is that!
It’s also not as bad as you’d think.
When I bought the clay I envisioned swallowing big clumps of mud. Alas, it is nothing of the kind. In fact you are not actually eating the clay your actually drinking it.
It is recommended that you buy Bentonite clay, which is a reasonably inexpensive and effective powder clay. You can find Bentonite clay in most health and organic stores. All you do is mix in a teaspoon of the clay and a teaspoon of Psyllium Husks for extra fibre to help move the clay through your body, dissolve in a glass of cold water then skull it back. It’s all done and dusted in a matter of seconds. It’s a slightly gritty texture but the taste is mild.
Still think it’s strange?
Most people are disgusted by the thought of eating dirt but when you consider our day to day lives in which we are willingly or unwillingly exposed to pesticides; meat pumped with hormones, fluoridated and chlorinated water, antibiotics and loads more, if a little clay can help your bodies get rid of all of this why wouldn’t you!
It’s also been a wellness trick for years and years especially among indigenous cultures, in ancient years it was considered a vital part of most humans diets to combat a range of illnesses such as digestive problems, skin issues, arthritis, internal parasites, anemia and more! How about that, maybe its not taking things too far after all.
Just think of it as edible earth and skull it back!
