Maddy Walker is the beautiful soul behind popular blog The Twenties Club. which seeks to empower and support girls in their twenties. What did you have for breakfast today?
Scrambled eggs, heirloom tomatoes and avocado.
How do you move your body?
Barre at Barre Figure in Ponsonby, stair sprints at Jacob’s Ladder and walking outside whenever and wherever possible!
What is your favourite food memory?
I have a vivid food memory of the purple Barney The Dinosaur cake my mum made for my third birthday party. His leg broke off and they had to stick it back together!
Who are you inspired by?
Too many people to name but at the moment it’s self-made young women like Emily Weiss of Glossier and Jen Atkin of Ouai Haircare, as well as all of the young creative women doing bad ass things in New Zealand right now.
Where in the world is your favourite eatery and why?
I don’t have a top favourite but Nobu in Waikiki, Hawaii is right up there. They do the most insane miso-glazed black cod which will knock your socks off.
What does your dream Sunday morning look like?
Waking up at my beach house in Matarangi at the beginning of winter, eating breakfast outside in my pajamas and then walking along the beach in the cold sun. Perfection.

This changes all the time! At the moment it’s Brain Octane Oil which is an MCT oil derived from the most important part of coconut oil.
Who would you like to host for dinner?
Lena Dunham, Leandra Medine and Kate McKinnon. They would do all the talking and I would just sit there in tears of laughter.

1. Work hard in silence, let success be your noise.
2. Work harder than everybody else.
3. No one else knows what they’re doing either.

The Twenties Club and the girls who read it.
What food principles do you live by?
You are the world’s greatest expert on your body. Nobody else.

I have no idea, and isn’t that the best part?
What is the best advice you have ever given?
If you want to be successful you have to work harder than everybody else. And it’s true: no one else knows what they’re doing either.
