We asked this down to earth soul a few questions about how she stays grounded, balanced and inspired, being a busy mum and business woman.
What did you have for breakfast today?
A smoothie – with protein powder as I’m vegetarian and need a little boost, Almond butter, coconut oil, Kale, oat milk, ginger and maca.
How do you move your body?
I’ve practised yoga since I was 18 and this is still my favourite type of exercise, even though it’s more of a mind calming exercise and less of a physical exercise. I walk when possible, and dabble in pilates and Barre classes.
What is your favourite food memory?
I have lots of great food memories, but a recent one was from a trip to London, and we all went to Burners Tavern. The food was amazing, but it was a really fun family outing and the service, location and decor all added to the experience.
Who are you inspired by?
People who live their own life and are not influenced by everyone else. I love meeting people who break the rules (for good reasons), live with their families best interests in mind. And people who create a life they LOVE.
Where in the world is your favourite eatery and why?
In thailand my favourite eatery is Eat Thai in Central Embassy. In New Zealand my currently favourite meal date is Amano. I like eating in places that have tasty food, good friendly staff, and a natural good energy.
What does your dream Sunday morning look like?
A dreamy sunday morning looks like being snuggled up in linen bed-ware – with tea brewing on the side table, and something great to read within hands reach.
Where is your ideal holiday location?
Thailand, for the food and healthy retreat vibe.
What is your most-used pantry item?
Being a mum I cook whats good for the family, not just my self, so our most used pantry item would probably be rice!? My children love rice + dahl. I find miso paste a great flavour for lots of dishes also – even soup stock.
Who would you like to host for dinner?
I don’t get too excited by the idea of hosting someone special – I get more excited by the idea of some amazing food chef hosting me!
What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?
To create a life plan, not a business plan, and make your business feed into the life you want to lead.
What would you tell your 20 year old self?
Have fun, be free, travel, dance lots, learn something new every year. I did all of that through out my 20’s and don’t regret any of it!
What drives you?
I put allot of effort into everything I do – and this drives me. I want my children to be loving and kind humans, I want my business to succeed so I can continue to travel and have the freedom that comes from funding your own business.
What food principles do you live by?
We eat what is in season, and we support our local vege and fruit growers.
